A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
There is a guide for new employees to help them transition to Boston College. Included in the information are links to sustainable transportation options, including recognition of Boston College’s 2018 Gold Award for Excellence in Commuter Options from MassRIDES’ (program in the Mass Dept of Transportation) Massachusetts ECO Awards. There is also necessary training in Title IX and Harrassment training. As part of a supplementation to the orientation overview, there is information on the Boston College Affinity Groups (including APIE (Asian, Pacific Islander Employees), LATBC (Latino Employees of Boston College), LGBT@BC (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender), and BFSAA (Black Faculty, Staff and Administrators Association)); the Women’s Resource Center; and opportunities for Volunteer and Service Learning within the university and greater Boston area.
