1. Identifying the Region and Its Demographics
- Region Selection: Idaho was chosen as the region for comparison to align with the institution’s location and its primary service area.
- Demographic Data Sources: Demographic data for Idaho was obtained from reliable sources such as the U.S. Census Bureau and Data USA (https://datausa.io/profile/geo/idaho/ ). These sources provided detailed information on the racial, ethnic, and Indigenous composition of the state’s population.
2. Collecting Student Demographic Data
- Institutional Data Sources: Student demographic data was collected from the institution’s enrollment records, which include self-reported information on race, ethnicity, and Indigenous identity.
- Data Collection Period: The data was collected for the most recent academic year to ensure relevance and accuracy.
