SUSTAINABILITY ACTION PLAN
The Boise State Sustainability Action Plan (SAP) provides a strategic roadmap for pursuing sustainability initiatives, while efficiently utilizing resources and connecting campus efforts and its community. Adoption of the SAP by university leadership establishes a public commitment to strategically coordinate existing and future sustainability initiatives to achieve long-term targets in resource use, waste reduction, infrastructure utilization, academics and engagement. Through this commitment, the university can consolidate parallel efforts, prioritize funding, advance progress in external reporting metrics, and establish Boise State’s sustainability legacy.

2.3 Climate resilience assessment and planning

1. Boise State's Hazard and Climate Resilience Institute has identified local and regional hazards, many related to climate change. Our region is already experiencing extreme heat, increased poor air quality days, increased fire risk, and increased flooding risk.

2. Boise State was involved in drafting the Idaho Climate-Economy Impacts Assessment.
The Idaho Climate-Economy Impacts Assessment is a nonpartisan, science-based resource to help Idaho business leaders and policy makers plan for a productive, prosperous and resilient Idaho economy. This assessment connects the latest scientific research on Idaho’s changing climate with economic risks and opportunities that impact businesses, residents and local and state economies. In addition, the assessment seeks to inspire new collaborations, commitments and ongoing forums to leverage resources, encourage innovations and spur investments in Idaho solutions.
The assessment includes an economic analysis of the agriculture, energy, health, infrastructure, land (forest and range) and recreation and tourism sectors. Analyses connect the latest science on Idaho’s changing climate with economic risks and with opportunities for innovation and economic development. The assessment also features data on climate, water and wildfire smoke; a summary of economic opportunities and resources and references.
