Student Food Assistance - Boise State Swipe Out Hunger

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:

Boise State’s Swipe Out Hunger Association proudly works with students, Dining Services and Aramark to help provide donated meal swipes to the Meal Assistance Program so Boise State students facing food insecurity has access to no-cost meals. Recipients will receive 10 meal swipes to be used within the semester at the Boise River Cafe in the Student Union Building.

This program was piloted in December of 2019, collecting over 405 meal swipes. Now, this program exists as an ongoing program to provide meal assistance and to students, as well as to make the most of food prepared given expected meal swipes each day for the meal-plan holders.
