A brief description of how sustainability is included prominently in new student orientation :
Students and their families are introduced to the topic of sustainability immediately after arriving at orientation. Each incoming freshman and transfer student are given a Boise State water bottle and encouraged to use it while at orientation. They are also told to bring the bottle back for the school year and to use our water bottle refill stations on campus to reduce plastic use.
Furthermore, at the family dinner at orientation, freshman orientation recycling ambassadors help students and their families sort recycling. These volunteers are given a shoutout at the beginning of dinner and they educate students and their families on Boise State’s recycling system.
