BroncoFit Peer Educators

A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
BroncoFit Peer Educators are valued members of the university community and provide essential outreach services for students, campus groups, classes, and organizations on a variety of health-related topics. They receive relevant training to develop and implement programs designed to improve campus well-being.

Currently, peer educators provide programs and outreach in any topic related to the 8 dimensions of wellness: physical, social, emotional, environmental, intellectual, occupational, spiritual, and financial.

Our students are Certified Peer Educators (CPEs) in accordance with standards set forth by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) CPE Network.
The CPE philosophy is that students can play a uniquely effective role – unmatched by professional educators – in encouraging their peers to consider, talk honestly about, and develop responsible habits and attitudes toward high-risk health and safety issues. Research has demonstrated the effectiveness of students working with students, and our BroncoFit Peer Educators have an immediate understanding of the social and academic pressures Boise State University students face.
