Has the institution conducted a survey or other evaluation that allows for anonymous feedback to measure employee satisfaction and engagement during the previous three years?:
Yes

Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
31

A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:

In 2020 we administered the Skyfactor Campus Climate, Safety, and Sexual Assault Assessment; the survey was sent out the spring of 2020 and the results were received during the fall semester of 2020. The primary purpose of the Skyfactor Campus Climate, Safety, and Sexual Assault Assessment is to provide BHSU with information to inform policies, programs, and practices that enhance the campus environment. This assessment provides campus constituents an opportunity to voice their experiences and perceptions of the campus environment. Specifically, it serves as a conduit for providing feedback to help direct university initiatives.

A university committee reviewed several national campus climate surveys. After a review of the surveys, the committee found that Skyfactor/Benchmarks had many capabilities that were important. This included a survey for students and employees; meeting Title IX recommendations; a flexible administration timeline; add additional questions; peer comparisons and national benchmarks; reporting features. In addition, by using a third party vendor, the company provides an additional layer of data confidentiality.
The Skyfactor Campus Climate, Safety, and Sexual Assault Assessment focuses on:
• Perceptions of the campus related to the ability to assess diversity, inclusiveness, visibility, equity, safety, and treatment
• Personal attitudes and behaviors related to working with people from diverse backgrounds
• Perceptions of institutional policies, procedures, and training in compliance with Title IX (sexual assault and harassment)
• Perceptions of measures and satisfaction with the institution

A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:

How the Skyfactor Campus Climate, Safety, and Sexual Assault Assessment has been utilized to address issues raised in the evaluation:

1. BHSU has started utilizing the secure reporting system called “Lighthouse” which is an independent provider that assists BHSU to identify improper activity. These reports don’t disclose identity without express permission.
2. We have updated our websites to make it easier to report.
3. We have created a “Give a Thanks” program that gives recognition to employees who are making a difference and working hard.
4. We updated our “Employee Recognition Program” that happens annually recognizing employees in different areas of the university.
5. HR sends Title IX and FERPA training to all employees.
