Black Hills State University is a public university in Spearfish, South Dakota. The campus consists of 123-acres and 29 buildings in addition to the Ida Henton Park and Lyle Hare Stadium. Approximately 4,000 students attend classes on campus in Spearfish, at a satellite site in Rapid City and distance offerings. Enrollment comes from all 64 out of 66 countries in South Dakota, 43 states, and 29 countries. BHSU is governed by the South Dakota Board of Regents.
