A brief description of the minimum total compensation provided to the institution’s lowest paid employee or pay grade, including any in-kind benefits included as part of the total compensation figure :
If an employee works at least 20 hours per week for six months or more in a regular/permanent position, they are eligible for the same benefits as the full time employees (i.e. healthcare and retirement contributions). The exception is that they accrue leave on a prorated basis.
For employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week in a regular position, they receive prorated leave based on the hours they work (i.e. no healthcare or retirement contributions).
Living wage based on 2080 working hours in the year (52 weeks x 40 hours/wk). Living wage Lawrence county = $13.80/hr, or $28,704 annually. Compensation ONLY for lowest paid employee = $10.96 hourly, or $22,797 annually. Total compensation for the lowest paid employee includes healthcare and retirement funded by the institution. FY17 healthcare = $8,387 per employee. FY17 Employer retirement contribution = 6% of gross (approx. $1,368/yr). Total Compensation for lowest paid permanent employee = $32,552 or $15.65/hr.
