AAHSE: We presented on Food Hubs in a rural context (Black Hills Food Hub) at the 2016 AASHE conference. We presented a poster on Spearfish Local food efforts at the AASHE 2015 conference. At the AASHE 2014 conference, we presented on our local food program.

BHSU submitted a case study to for the annual AASHE Campus Sustainability Achievement Award about the Black Hills Food Hub. In previous years we submitted our Spearfish Local internship program to POTLUX. This award was to be featured in an article in a UN publication as a leading green campus.

BHSU President Tom Jackson serves as the vice-chair of the sustainable development committee for American Association of state Colleges and Universities (AASCU).

Yes

A brief description of the mentoring relationship and activities:
The Sustainability Intern at South Dakota State University in located in Brooking, SD reached out to us in April 2015 to ask for guidance on developing their sustainability program. We have mentored on various topics such as waste management, budgets, etc. This is an informal mentorship.

Since 2014, BHSU has participated in the Recycle Mania competition against other Universities across the country.
