Binghamton University's Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) offers carpool and ride-share incentives, free / low cost bike share services and public transportation resources to faculty, students and staff. Recently TAPS offered chances to win gift certificates to complete a survey which brought about awareness of these services to the campus community.

The pilot Bike Share program was launched November 1, 2013 and had over 160 hours of use and 40 unique users in its first month. Race To Zero Waste
A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Race To Zero Waste is a friendly competition and bench-marking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities. Over an 8-week period each spring, colleges across the United States and Canada report the amount of recycling and trash collected each week and are in turn ranked in various categories based on who recycles the most on a per capita basis, as well as which schools have the best recycling rate as a percentage of total waste and which schools generate the least amount of combined trash and recycling. With each week’s updated ranking, participating schools follow their performance against other colleges and use the results to rally their campus to reduce and recycle more.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
The diversion rate on campus increased ~7 percentage points during the recycling competition. The difference in recycling due to the RecycleMania competition resulted in a 16.12 ton increase for cardboard, 11.04 ton increase in compost, and a 7.25 ton increase in paper recycled, during the FY21-22 competition compared to the FY20-21.
Race to Zero Waste motivates the Campus body to participate in waste reduction efforts.
