Overview
The Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is responsible for the University wide strategic priority to unite to foster a diverse and inclusive campus community.

Mission
To advance Binghamton University's teaching, research and service mission and commitment to excellence by working collaboratively throughout the institution with faculty, staff and students to promote a campus climate that values diversity, equity and inclusion.

A brief description of the institution’s cultural competence trainings and activities for each of the groups identified above:

The institution's cultural competency training's are conducted through our Udiversity Educational Institute, which is within the Division of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion at Binghamton University. These training's focus on exploring and building awareness of cultural diversity and inclusion, reflection about personal socialization, explore both privilege and oppression, and help participants to develop mechanisms to become change agents. These trainings cover a variety of topics such as addressing unconscious bias, LGBTQ awareness, equity within hiring, etc.
We also offer throughout the semester diverse and inclusive programs through our Multicultural Resource Center, LGBTQ Center, Translation and Interpretation Program to campus students, faculty, staff, administration. These programs are frequently done in conjunction with other divisions/departments on campus, other local higher education institutions and community partners.
