A brief description of the institution’s programs that help increase the diversity of higher education faculty:
In light of its historic founding and mission, Berea Colleges takes very seriously the need to diversify the faculty. Berea College has one of the most diverse faculties (of small private, liberal arts colleges). The Dean/AVP and the Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion meet with all faculty and staff search chairs, shares information about how to diversify the pool, and requires that each search chair submit a report about the diversity of the pool before bringing any candidates to campus.
