A brief description of the institution’s program to support employee volunteering:

Bentley has multiple formal programs in which Bentley employees can participate in volunteer opportunities during work hours.

One annual program is the Relay 4 Life program organized by the Wellness Center which involves both employees and students and raises funds for cancer research.

Other campus groups organize blood drives, collections of canned goods and items for U.S. troops and homeless shelters. Campus Police runs a Toys for Tots donation program each December. Bentley's "Campus Connections" program also provides opportunities to give back to the community via Dress for Success and other clothing drives and the Waltham 5k Run in May, which is a fundraiser for local middle and high schools. In addition, Bentley staff volunteer their time to help with the Office of Sustainability's move out program Give 'N Go where usable items are collected to donate to local charities.

The programs through Campus Connections are subsidized through Bentley and often lunch is included or the 5K registration fee is paid for by Bentley. The majority of these programs are during working hours and employees are paid for their time.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

Bentley's Service Learning and Civic Engagement center estimates they engaged 632 students in academic year 2022 (not counting the student managers) with the total number of 12,640 hours.

The other volunteers and hours were received from Bentley's Give 'N Go, Spiritual Life's Day of Service and Greek Life volunteer hours.

The total number of students counted here are only undergraduate students. This is because our Graduate and PHD students are mostly part time or night only students.

Paid time off is not offered for these volunteer opportunities.
