A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:
Amanda King, the Executive Director of Sustainability does a presentation once a semester on the carbon footprint of the university. Along with outlining Bentley's data she does a primer on climate change and sustainability. All staff and faculty are invited to this presentation.

Human Resources organized the first annual Community Learning Conference in July 2019. As part of this Human Resources brought programs to campus that were dedicated to professional and academic development of faculty and staff. Some sessions included social justice topics such as "Bias in the Media" and "the Powers and Perils of Code Switching." The Office of Sustainability led a "Sustainability tour of campus" which highlighted the resources available to the campus community so that they can live their lives more sustainably.

A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :
AASHE Sustainability Professionals Retreat: Natalie Hayes attended the Sustainability professionals retreat at Swarthmore College during the summer of 2018. It was extremely engaging content covering: strategy, peer to peer learning, justice and equity, waste reduction, and networking.

Facilitation Training from GreenerU
GreenerU, a engineering and change management consultant, hosted a full-day workshop for 5 Bentley employees and 9 students involved in campus sustainability efforts. The workshop focused on developing and practicing the essential skills of a confident and effective facilitator to support organizational change on campus. It specifically addressed in-person meeting facilitation. The workshop covered topics such as behavior theory as it pertains to meetings, the role of a facilitator, types of meetings, basic facilitation tools and techniques, difficult conversations and personalities, adaptive facilitation, nonverbal communication, methods of building group consensus, and a holistic process approach to facilitation.
