Alternative Transportation Week
A brief description of the campaign:
This is a week-long series of events held in 2018 & 2019 during which the Office of Sustainability spoke to students, faculty, and staff about alternative transportation opportunities on campus. Biking, public transit, ride sharing programs, Zipcars, carpooling, and walking are all discussed in detail and engagement programs address barriers to entry.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
Alternative Transportation Week outreach supported decreases in single-occupancy vehicle use and sign-ups for ride share systems increased. During Alternative Transportation Week, Office of Sustainability staff and student leaders had a table where community members could sign up for ride share or pledge to use alternative transportation. The number of sign ups for ride share was greater than the year before. Additionally, the 2019 fall transportation survey showed a decrease in single occupancy riders, compared to numbers from 2018.

Climate Week
A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
In Fall 2020 the Office of Sustainability sponsored Climate Week, a week of activities designed to teach the campus community about Climate Change in fun and interesting ways. We held several events for faculty, staff, students, and community members, including: a climate change themed escape room, an outside speaker from a local food establishment and an event where we raised money to benefit those suffering from the effects of Hurricane Dorian.
A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
We estimate that we reached 275 people throughout our 5 day event. Bentley's Sustainability Student Leaders recorded how many people attend the various events held during Climate Week.
