Student Sustainability Leadership Program
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
Each year, the Office of Sustainability employs five paid interns to receive formal leadership training, skills-based training, and the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with Office of Sustainability staff on the most pressing sustainability challenges facing the university today. Each student serves a specific role. There are two students who make up the PR team, two students who make up the Events team, and one student who works as the assistant to the executive and associate directors.
A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):
All students are targeted by the Student Sustainability Leadership Program through in person events, social media outreach and speaking in courses. Both undergraduate students and graduate students are invited all of our events. Although Graduate students comprise a smaller portion of the participants in our events, they regularly engage via email and do attend our evening events that are more accessible to them.
Our students regularly support us in teaching courses. They also helped us revamp the Sustainability Guide which will be an online guide on basic sustainability tips and tools on campus. They also planned Climate Change Week in Fall 2019 where students were able to participate in various events and activities that shared information on climate change and Bentley's Carbon footprint.
