The College has adapted the use of environmental, societal, and governance scores (ESG) in the investment selection process. Further, no private equity investments have been made as the opportunities reviewed to not meet the College's standards for socially responsible investing.

Examples of CIR actions during the previous three years:

1. Engaging students with the selection of a new endowment manager with experience in socially responsible investing. Students participated in drafting of the request for proposal, as well as the evaluation of firms interviewed.
2. Engaging with the College community with the adoption of ESG as a the preferred variant of socially responsible investing.
3. Evaluation of private equity opportunities with an eye toward socially responsible investing.
4. Re-evaluation of the original ESG decision with input from students and all of the College community which is currently under way.
