The university has planted specimens of the American Chestnut on campus to help restore this endangered species.

The American Chestnut was once native to Tennessee but was wiped out. This tree is being added to campus to continue our efforts in restoring this species to the area.

The university will continue to nurture these specimens and add additional American Chestnuts when available.
