Belmont was one of the sponsors of the recent Let's Move Nashville transportation plan to bring improved bus service, light rail and a connector tunnel under the city center. In addition to sponsoring the Citizens for Greater Mobility public relations campaign to promote the referendum, Belmont conducted petition drives on campus and in the community to get the referendum on the ballot and then organized voter registration campaigns to encourage folks to be sure they could vote their conscience on the matter.
