A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation (including how multiple dimensions of sustainability are addressed):
New employees attending New Staff Orientation are given information regarding the mission and vision of the university and general policies including Belmont’s Conservation Covenant. Employees are given information regarding the use and placement of recycling bins across campus and the placement of hydration stations as there is no bottled water sold on campus. Employees are given the opportunity to purchase aluminum water bottles at a reduced cost in the Belmont store and Corner Court dining facility to use as water bottles on campus. In addition, employees are made aware that they can use public transportation to and from work at no cost – they just swipe their Belmont ID card and ride.
