A brief description of the diversity coordinator's position:
The Chief Diversity Officer provides leadership in the development, coordination and implementation of programs that promote equity and pluralism at Bellevue College (BC). As a member of President's Staff, the Vice President provides guidance, advice, counsel, and support to the President, Vice Presidents and Deans responsible for managing college unit and department work in support of equity and pluralism. Areas of focus include: student and employee recruitment and retention, student success, professional development, academic curriculum diversity, and college climate. The Vice President reports to the College President and is a member of President's Staff. In addition, the Vice President guides the work of the college's pluralism committees and manages the pluralism budget.
