A brief description of the plan of action to achieve waste reduction goals:

Bellevue College's overall waste reduction plan is housed within the College's Climate Action Plan. This plan entails reducing solid waste production by 5% per year over the baseline established in 2007-2008 (averaged out in 5 year increments) for a 50% reduction in the first ten years and to continue to reduce waste with a goal of reaching a 75% reduction by 2030 and 100% by 2050.

The figures for recycling and garbage for the performance year do not capture the entire weight of materials recycled or disposed of on campus because we have some accounts that report only dollar amounts and not weight of materials.
