A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
Barnard College partnered with COACHE (Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education) to distribute a survey to faculty designed to identify the drivers of faculty success and to implement informed changes. Faculty with tenure or on a tenure track were invited to respond to the survey which included questions about satisfaction and engagement. This survey was distributed electronically through the office of Institution Research and Assessment during the spring of 2017.
A brief description of the mechanism(s) by which the institution addresses issues raised by the evaluation:
Senior leadership were informed of the results, and they were also presented at a faculty meeting, and shared with the Faculty Finance and Resource Committee (FFRC).
