The college administers on a regular cycle engagement and satisfactions surveys to the students and faculty and is in the process of developing a cycle for staff. In Fall 2019, the college hired a Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to lead strategic initiatives to cultivate a more inclusive and equitable learning environment. The college also hired a
Director of Institutional Assessment that will support the efforts to assess the campus climate and disseminate results.
For example, last Spring the college collected information about students’ experiences on campus, in and out of the classrooms, their interactions with the faculty and advisors, their feelings of belongings, as well as their perception of the administration responsiveness. The data will be used to inform programming and strengthen the current resources available to students, and will be communicated to the community. The new Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and the Council on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are being instrumental in shaping how the College is structuring its work in those
