A brief description of the institution’s formal participatory or shared governance bodies:

Bard's faculty participates in academic governance through its Faculty Senate. Students participate through Bard Student Government. All Bard College students are members of the Bard Student Government (BSG). BSG works to improve student services and residential life, represents student interests in curricular and training matters on campus, and administers funding for more than 150 student organizations. Student government leaders help to assess the campus climate and support the student body however possible. The Bard Student Government Central Assembly comprises the speaker of the student body; the chairs of the Student Life, Fiscal, Educational Policies, and Multicultural Diversity committees; the Peer Review and Student Judiciary Board chairs; and the treasurer. Bard College students are represented at Board of Trustees and Board of Governors meetings. https://www.bard.edu/bsg/
