Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
New York Campus Aggregate Renewable Energy Solution (NYCARES)

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
The New York Campus Aggregate Renewable Energy Solution (“NYCARES”) is a consortium of NYS colleges and universities that have joined together for the purpose of procuring Large Scale Renewable Energy (LSRE) supplies.

Rather than "go it alone", and risk competing for projects and/or not achieving competitive scale, the NYCARES consortium (led by the SUNY system, and joined by several community colleges and private institutions), are leveraging legal and financial resources to procure a large-scale portfolio of renewable projects.

The process has been in development since 2017, and aims to culminate in 600MW+ of new renewable capacity. The RFP is slated for late-spring, 2020, and anticipates selected LSRE projects will be operation in 2022.

Bard is pleased to be part of NYACRES, and hopes to offset at least 50% of campus electric supply from this effort.
