Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Covid-19 Emergency Response: Support Enables Community Engagement

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Bard has made strides to make sure that all of our students have adequate technological and financial support during this pandemic, through establishing a Student Emergency Fund. And in addition to the innovative measures that Bard has taken during the Covid-19 pandemic for our own students, Bard is also connected with the local emergency response to food insecurity, as unemployment nationwide has surged to unprecedented levels. Bard actively recruits and provides structure for Bard staff, faculty, and students who are involved with senior citizen connection programs and grocery/ meal delivery programs. Also, one of the CCE-sponsored courses from our Engaged Liberal Arts and Science program is continuing work as a financial campaign to support the homeless population in the nearest city next to campus, Kingston. This program, entitled Thrive On Kingston, seeks to provide tools and kits for the homeless population. The 250+ kits that were provided include blankets, water bottles, DIY facemasks with instructions, socks, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, laundry detergent, shaving kits, amenities kits, Food + Shelter guide, shampoo + conditioner, reusable bags, and much, much more.
