BardE3s
A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):
The BardE3 Program is the student-side of the Bard Office of Sustainability. BardE3s are trained on the principles of the three Es: Environment, Economy, and Equity; they in turn engage Bard students to be more educated and active citizens on campus and beyond.
A brief description of the student educators program’s target audience (1st program):
Students are paid to carry out programming and recruit volunteers. They are trained in campus systems and how to map the Global Goals to coursework. There are generally four Program Leaders in charge of 4 BardE3s each. BardE3s mostly promote residence hall sustainability, though actions are not exclusive to the residential college. They maintain recycling/reuse/compost stations (and EcoBoxes), create educational pieces, help Peer Counselors with programming and work on campus life sustainability efforts including Recyclemania and the EcoChallenge. Public-use buildings (campus center and academic buildings) are targets for outreach and awareness initiatives.

Peer Counselors
A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):
Peer Counselors (PCs) are students who live alongside students and serve as leaders as well as resources for their residents. PCs are trained each year in topics such as: student development and transitions, listening and referral skills, recognizing students in distress, sustainable life practices and community building. Each PC is required to present programming each semester on a variety of topics including social justice, independent living, fostering ownership, sustainable life practices and active citizenship. PCs are also utilized in dish return drives for our dining hall, helping with PopUp FreeUse stores at move out and reporting any missing/mis-labeled recycling bins.

Peer Health Educators
A brief description of the student educators program (3rd program):
Peer Health Educators are a group of Bard students trained by a team of professionals and supervised by Annia Reyes. Students facilitate conversations and events around a variety of health topics, including body positivity, sexual health, contraception, safer sex, navigating relationships, sex positivity, self-care strategies in college, alcohol/drug harm reduction and more.

Additional programs
BRAVE is a professionally directed student-service organization whose members provide anonymous and confidential crisis intervention, supportive counseling, advocacy, and ongoing education to the Bard community. Although BRAVE student staff members receive particular training in issues relating to sexual assault, sexual harassment, relationship violence, and sexuality, BRAVE counselors also receive training in eating disorders, depression and suicide, sexual orientation, loneliness, isolation, anxiety, and social and academic issues. Their mission is to create public awareness about emotional and psychological challenges, provide a place of support for those who need it, and inspire discussion in our community. Bard student-counselors provide anonymous and confidential crisis intervention, supportive counseling, advocacy, and ongoing education to the Bard community. Every fall, Bard students host a training session to train new Bard students to become Brave counselors.
