If end date of the baseline year/period is 2004 or earlier, provide:

A brief description of when and why the water use baseline was adopted:
Baseline year of 2009 is prior to install of new Water Treatment Plant (constructed from Jan 2010 to Jan 2011). Performance year 2015 has the most recent complete & accurate water consumption records. Performance year values: Student populations = FY2015/16 data Fac/Staff populations = FY2015/16 data Building square footage = FY2015/16 data

Figures needed to determine "Weighted Campus Users":

Full-time equivalent of students enrolled exclusively in distance education 0 0
Weighted campus users 2,717.25 2,051.25

Potable water use per weighted campus user:

Optional Fields

A brief description of the institution's water-related behavior change initiatives, e.g. initiatives to shift individual attitudes and practices such as signage and competitions:
---

A brief description of the institution's water recovery and reuse initiatives:
We use water directly from the Sawkill River to irrigate plantings that supplements hoses - 80% of how we irrigate.

A brief description of the institution's initiatives to replace plumbing fixtures, fittings, appliances, equipment, and systems with water-efficient alternatives (e.g. building retrofits):
When application allows, low- or no-flow fixtures and equipment are used. -In 2011, Bard completed install of new water treatment facility, boosting water/energy efficiency significantly reducing is water consumption (in particular, reduced water needed for cleaning and back-washing of facility. -In 2013, all urinals were replaced with waterless urinals.

Data source(s) and notes about the submission:
The data inconsistency between IC2 Gross Floor Building Space and subsequent credits (OP1, OP3, OP5, and OP22) is due to the fact the IC2 values represent Bard as it exists in FY2016/17 at the time of STARS submission, and the Performance Year values are for FY2015/16 (i.e. the most recent and complete set of data, 1 full year, for GHG emissions and energy consumption). In particular, this is due to the purchase/addition of the Montgomery Place property to the Bard Campus in January 2016, when additional acreage and buildings were added. IC2 “gross floor building space” is value for FY2016/17 = 1,248,230 ft2 (i.e. after purchase of Montgomery Place property). Performance Year “gross floor building space” is value for FY2015/16 = 1,204,980 ft2 (i.e. before purchase of Montgomery Place property).
