A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
Bard students successfully lobbied the Town of Red Hook (town board) to pass a Resolution that was presented to the County Board of Elections to create a polling place on campus. The Bard Center for Civic Engagement actively supported this activity through letters of support and attending meetings.

A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the state/provincial/regional level, including the issues, legislation, and ordinances for or against which the institution has advocated:
The Center For Civic Engagement (CCE) supports students and aids in their participation through voting in local, state, and federal elections. 3 NYS BHSEC locations "...provide adolescents with a rigorous, credit-bearing, tuition-free college course of study in the liberal arts and sciences following the 9th and 10th grades." There are currently five other locations in as many states. Bard's mission, which prominently features sustainability, is present in this engagement.
