A brief description of the institution’s employee community service initiatives:
Ongoing initiatives engage the Bard Community with local partners. Bard holds an annual day of engagement on Martin Luther King Jr. Day where over 275 students participate with more than 20 organizations and log close to 900 hours. All first-year students participate in a mandatory science outreach day during the Citizen Science program, averaging 4 hours per student; thus 98% of students engage in community service during their tenure at the college. Over 400 additional students participate in TLS projects, EMS, BRAVE, and Peer Health.
