A brief description of the institution’s formal participatory or shared governance bodies:
The University Senate structure includes a main senate body and 3 standing councils. The three councils are (1) Faculty Council, which represents the academic staff participation by having a representative from each academic department; (2) University Council, which represents the non-academic staff participation by having elected representative from each non-academic unit within the university; and (3) Campus Council/Student Government Association (SGA), which represents the students participation. The University Senate council includes the chairs of the aforementioned 3 councils as well as membership from all of them.
