Signage

Yes

A brief description of the signage that highlights sustainability features on campus:
The recently completed (now occupied) College of Health facility has a dashboard display in the entry lobby that monitors/tracks the performance of its rooftop photovoltaic electrical generation and the electrical demand of its occupants. In addition, information is provided about the storm water management achieved by a green roof over the lower aprons of the building. We are working toward providing a web link for real-time, on-line access.

Also, the university has an interactive ‘Get on the Map’ webpage for sharing the energy use intensities of campus buildings from historical records; with projections of reductions needed to achieve climate neutrality.

Also, the University has published a Green Campus Guide and a Sustainability Guide; which respectively provide advice on practices and principles of sustainability living and information graphics on campus wide sustainability achievements to date.

Yes

A brief description of the sustainability walking map or tour:
The Ball State Arboretum urges visitors to explore our 780 acre campus, which contains hundreds of species of trees. Five tree trails have been designed and can be enjoyed by educators, students and community members. The Ball State Arboretum has been accredited at Level II through ArbNet; a global network for tree-focused arboreta. An interactive map and printable walking tour brochures for examining the vegetative cover of the campus are available on line.

The university provides a green guide for residence hall move in by students and as mentioned previously a more general green living guide for the campus as a whole.

The posting of news items, meeting agendas and minutes of the monthly gathering of the university-wide Council on the Environment (COTE) covers the items of celebration, facilitation, and anticipation endemic to the continuing evolution of sustainability practices at Ball State University.

Dining Services’s mini food truck brings together delicious culinary creativity, healthy variety, and sustainability in a convenient mobile venue. Find the truck Mondays-Fridays at 11:30 a.m. between Pruis Hall and University Theatre, weather permitting.
Emphasizing healthy variety and sustainability, the menu offers a rotating selection of daily entrees—creations like shrimp street tacos, BBQ jackfruit, a chicken club lettuce wrap, and quinoa avocado salad.
