A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:

We have completed construction of phase one of a 70 million-dollar two-phase, campus-wide installation of a ground-source-heat-pump (geothermal) district heating and cooling system to service the first 20 of some 47 buildings on campus.

We correspondingly have decommissioned two existing coal-fired boilers in phase one and will eliminate some 40,000+ metric tons of (Scope 1) CO2 equivalent emissions this coming heating season.

Phase two will begin next year, and when completed will enable us to decommission the remaining two coal-fired boilers and eliminate another 40,000+ metric tons of (Scope 1) CO2 equivalent emissions.
