The Baldwin Wallace Campus Sustainability Committee is committed to reviewing on campus activities including new constructions and operations to ensure that sustainability considerations are taken into account.
The Baldwin Wallace Campus Landscape Committee is committed to ensuring that the campus landscape is structured with a sustainability mindset including the protection of biodiversity and indigenous species.

A brief description of the activities and substantive accomplishments of the institution-wide coordinating body or officer during the previous three years:
The Campus Sustainability Committee has worked on multiple initiatives over the past three years. Each member of the committee is involved in various initaitives and reports on those initiatives at monthly meetings. Ongoing initaitives include:
(1) Campus Sustainability Food Taskforce - Working to establish sustainable foodstops on campus to retrieve leftover food from campus events for either distributing to campus foodstops or sending to the university composter. (Responsible Committee Member: Dr. Christy Walkuski. Additional Committee Members Involved: Dr. Franklin Lebo, Ms. Clare Helmer.)
(2) Tree Campus USA Certification via the Arbor Day Foundation - https://www.bw.edu/news/2017/04-tree-campus-usa-arboretum. (Responsible Member Involved: Dr. Kathyrn Flinn.)
(3) BW Gardens moved to Beech Street. This initiative was necessary to find and confirm the suitability of a new site for the student tended natural gardens on campus due to displacement by the construction of a new math and computer science building. (Committee Member Involved: Dr. Jill Stephens Fleisher, Co-Director, Sustainability.)
(3) An ongoing project is for Baldwin Wallace to joing the Greater Cleveland Bee Keeping Association by hosting active beehives on campus. To this end, the location at the BW Gardens for the hives has been identified and the hive secured. (Responsible Committee Member: Mr. Robin Gagnow.)
