BabsonX: From Corporate Social Responsibility to Corporate Social Innovation
Through edX, Babson teaches a continuing education course called "From Corporate Social Responsibility to Corporate Social Innovation," Babson offers continuing education opportunities through edX, available at https://www.edx.org/school/babsonx. The course "From Corporate Social Responsibility to Corporate Social Innovation" is based on real-world experiences from business leaders, teaching how to develop and lead social innovation initiatives that create both economic and social value. The course content is based on the understanding that the challenges facing our world are increasingly complex and affect corporations, communities, citizens, and the natural environment. For many companies, even those with strong traditions of philanthropy and corporate social responsibility, there is a growing consensus that current models of corporate engagement in society are no longer sufficient. They see that new approaches are needed. Fortunately, the past decade has seen an explosion of interest and development in social innovation—a discipline that employs entrepreneurial knowledge and methods to develop solutions to pressing social issues. The course addresses related challenges including business growth, innovation, employee engagement and retention, social impact, and connection to society. This is a course for anyone interested in understanding and acting on the new frontier of Corporate Social Innovation. This course combines learnings from the real-world experience of business leaders with analysis and practical applications. The course offers firsthand accounts and interaction with key executives who’ve led social innovation initiatives. They hail from leading organizations and brands including, Campbell’s, Dunkin Brands, Verizon, Salesforce.com, FIFCO, Barclays and more. The course teaches how to take critical steps and apply the management frameworks to any organization, developing a clear, practical understanding of the process, knowledge, and skills required to create social innovation efforts. In addition to online interactions, the course offers opportunities for in-person touchpoints for anyone in the Greater Boston area; with the potential for meetups elsewhere in the future. At Babson, the Executive and Enterprise Education program also produces tailored courses and certificate programs for individual organizations, on a variety of sustainability, CSR, and ESG topics. Due to the customized content, the sustainability education is not public.

Babson Collaborative for E’ship Education
The Babson Collaborative Global Student Challenge involves a feasibility analysis of a new business concept that addresses the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Challenge is completed in two phases: a local university-based competition, followed by a global competition among the top-placing team(s) from each institution.
The Babson Collaborative 2024 Student Challenge engaged 2990 Students at 28 Collaborative Member Institutions in 21 Countries, resulting in 800 Projects addressing the U.N. Global Goals.
Since 2018, the Student Challenge has engaged: 9000 Students at 39 Schools in 28 Countries resulting in 2400 Projects addressing UN SDGs

A program for students engaged in the Global Student Challenge. Launching and running social impact ventures requires a business model that delivers value, generates returns, and achieves social impact goals. In this session, you will: Discover fundamental elements of social impact business models. Learn strategies for creating sustainable operations. Explore how to balance financial returns with social objectives. Understand how a well-designed business model can support long-term impact and operational success.

Babson Summer Study is a 3+ week experiential online program for rising high school juniors and seniors to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and become innovators and changemakers. By strengthening your understanding of the United Nations Global Goals, you will develop the competencies and confidence to address real-world problems, seize opportunities, have an impact, and create change that leads to your desired future. While you work with peers from around the globe, you will develop power skills that allow you to enroll others in your vision, confidently master difficult topics, and embrace other points of view all while earning 4 college credits from Babson, the top-ranked college for entrepreneurship.
EPIC (E’ship Program for Innovators and Changemakers) Curriculum:
The EPIC curriculum allows students to understand business concepts like opportunity identification, idea generation, prototyping, and marketing, while concurrently introducing them to social entrepreneurship and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (Global Goals). Your students will:
- Identify a problem in their school or community and learn to address it guided by the Global Goals
- “Learn by doing,” working in teams to address the problem, developing entrepreneurial leadership capabilities and conflict resolution strategies
- Use Babson’s award-winning Entrepreneurial Thought & Action® methodology to design a solution that creates social and economic value
Schools and youth organizations have the option to license the EPIC curriculum so that certified teachers and youth leaders can help their students unlock their potential.
Teaching entrepreneurship to youth via EPIC also develops young leaders who generate economic, social, and environmental value.
Certificate in Youth Entrepreneurship Education
EPIC (Entrepreneurship Program for Innovators and Changemakers) is a youth entrepreneurship program that uses a proven method of teaching entrepreneurship to youth to increase resiliency and entrepreneurial self-efficacy. It helps middle school and high school students understand what it means to be an entrepreneur, empowering them to make positive change in their lives, communities, and the world. Our Certificate program for middle and high school teachers and youth development professionals is offered in two formats: fully online (nine weeks) and hybrid (two weeks including two online sessions plus three days) onsite. You can earn a Certificate in Youth Entrepreneurship Education from Babson College, the No. 1 school for entrepreneurship. This certifies you to teach our EPIC curriculum to youth.
