A brief description of the cultural competence trainings and activities:
Chief Diversity Officer Elizabeth Thornton leads interactive discussions on the College’s strategy at least once each semester. These sessions are published throughout campus and open to all employees. She helps students, staff, and faculty to answer the questions “What does Diversity mean today? What is my role in promoting diversity and inclusiveness on campus and beyond?” We are in the process of developing our own cultural competency training for staff and faculty. % Faculty members were just trained on the Cultural Orientations Model and we will combine this training with SEERS and Stop the Hate to develop something unique to Babson. We hope to have this piloted by Spring 2011.
