Which of the following best describes the institution’s approach to rainwater management?:
Comprehensive policies, plans or guidelines that require LID practices for all new projects

A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:
APSU has two demonstration rain gardens which disperse rain water collected from two buildings into a natural system for improved filtration and absorption compared to traditional storm water systems. Additionally the campus has a native meadow that was installed in a storm water detention area that prevents erosion and water pollution, as well as increases water infiltration and absorption. We also have a 20'x220' pervious concrete strip on the lower end of parking lot 8 that allows stormwater to be filtered and drain into the soil before reaching the storm drains.

A copy of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines:
A brief description of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines that supports the responses above:
-University employees, students, visitors, and contractors are prohibited from discharging any non-stormwater into stormwater systems on University property.
-Physical Plant and Environmental Health & Safety shall monitor for illicit discharges into the stormwater system and shall take timely action to eliminate all such discharges.
-All university construction contracts shall include language requiring compliance with this policy and with the University’s Non-traditional MS4 permit conditions.
