Winter Power Down Campaign

A brief description of the campaign:

We reached out to APSU faculty, staff and residential students with targeted messaging via the campus newsletters, social media and the student app encouraging powering down offices and dorm rooms for the 2020 winter break. https://apsu.edu/sustainability/winter-break-energy-savings.php


A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:

The campus saved about $2,000 on electricity every day of the winter break, more than doubling the typical reduction in demand during the campus closure. We will continue this campaign in future years.

Fill it yourself

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):

Fill it yourself is a campus wide initiative to reduce disposable water use. Bottles and education are provided at convocation and organizations have access to free water dispensers for events.
