Adjusted net Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions:
Performance year Baseline year
Adjusted net GHG emissions 2,474.60 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 9,725 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Start and end dates of the performance year and baseline year (or three-year periods):
Performance year Baseline year
Start date July 1, 2019 July 1, 2007
End date June 30, 2020 June 30, 2008

A brief description of when and why the GHG emissions baseline was adopted:

Austin College President Emeritus Oscar Page signed the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment in 2007. We completed our first greenhouse gase inventory for fiscal year 2008. Because that was our first inventory, we consider it our baseline. However, we reduced electricity consumption 7% from 2004 to 2008 thanks to new leadership in the Physical Plant.

Figures needed to determine “Weighted Campus Users”:

Number of employees resident on-site 7 10
Number of other individuals resident on-site 2 2
Total full-time equivalent student enrollment 1,250 1,288.89
Full-time equivalent of employees 331 305
Full-time equivalent of students enrolled exclusively in distance education 0 0
Weighted Campus Users 1,420.75 1,405.42

Adjusted net Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions per weighted campus user:
Performance year Baseline year
Adjusted net Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions per weighted campus user 1.74 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent 6.92 Metric tons of CO2 equivalent

Percentage reduction in adjusted net Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions per weighted campus user from baseline:
74.83

Gross floor area of building space, performance year:

Healthcare space 3,900 Square feet
Other energy intensive space 3,776 Square feet

EUI-adjusted floor area, performance year:
1,082,625 Gross square feet

Adjusted net Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions per unit of EUI-adjusted floor area, performance year:
0.00 MtCO2e per square foot

A brief description of the institution’s GHG emissions reduction initiatives:

-Offset 100% of electricity used with RECs
-Incremental increase in purchases of carbon offsets beginning 2025
-Incremental changes to lighting used in older buildings
-Encourage those studying abroad to purchase/report air travel offsets
-Facilitate student efforts to create/implement greener campus life and policies
