Data source(s) and notes about the submission:

From 2013 to 2017, an Alabama Executive Order precluded state agencies from using appropriations to pursue LEED certification. As such, the Facilities Management and Office of Sustainability staff worked together to take all major LEED-design parameters and incorporate them into the university's design and construction standards during that time period. Staff from both offices can attest that all buildings initiated during that time frame and listed on the spreadsheet as using AU Design Standards included sustainability elements from all major LEED categories. Once the executive order ban was lifted, the university quickly moved to require all new buildings be built to a minimum of LEED Silver. The specific document listing out the design standards used during the 2013-2017 time has since been revised and replaced given this change, so we're unable to provide a direct link to the old standards at this time.
