Our Green Interior Design Specialist course provides comprehension information on how to apply sustainable design principles and practices on projects. It presents the tools and knowledge needed to implement an environmentally responsible approach for any interior design project. The course opens with a broad perspective on global sustainability followed by an in-depth look into creating eco-friendly interior designs. We will look at different types of flooring, lighting, finishes, electrical, and mechanical options.
"There has been an incredible demand for solar modules and PV system development since the turn of the 21st century.
The Photovoltaic System Professional course provides a comprehensive overview of the design of these systems and how to install them. We cover the core elements of PV electricity, system components, PV modules, installation, permitting, inspections, and maintenance. We also discuss the future of solar energy and sustainability and how these things contribute to society.

Many of the education outreach through Alabama Cooperative Extension Agency are related to food, gardening, weeds, health, aquaponics and fisheries, and forestry and wildlife.

Through this “entry-level” green course you will learn that even small changes make a difference and that going green is good for our health, the planet, and even our budgets. In this Alternative Energy Specialist course, we will examine the history of sustainability practices and challenges we currently face. You’ll be introduced to the underlying components, installation, and implementation of solar energy, wind energy, photovoltaic systems, and geothermal systems.
"Renewable Energy Specialist course addresses the main characteristics of the emerging generation of technologies which will be employed to provide energy for the power grid over the next 20 years. This course covers solar energy in its various forms, such as photovoltaic, thermal and thermodynamic energy conversion, taking into account the various issues associated with the connection of these solar plants to the grid. We will also cover wind technologies, wave power and geothermal energies. This Renewable Energy Specialist course is a must for anyone interested in moving into the field of green energy. Prerequisite(s): Solid knowledge of math and sciences"

The continuing education certificates and courses found in the document titled Auburn_EN12_ContEdCourses2021 were obtained from the Office of Professional and Continuing Education. They reported a total of 212 courses, 7 of which are sustainability-related certificates or courses.

The additional courses and numbers come from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. For this data, excel files with every course offered through ACES for each year were obtained. Because the geographical limits on the area we are reporting in STARS, we only included the data taught by extension specialists who are faculty or instructors on Auburn University's main campus. The data was filtered by Lee County, position, class size of 0-1 eliminated, and then categorized by sustainability-related or not. Most courses were in fisheries, aquaponics, forestry and wildlife, and agriculture. entomology, and animal sciences. The spreadsheet of ACES courses in 2019 has been attached as an example.
