Due a change in food service contractors during 2018, we were unable to generate a report on our food and beverage purchasing that met the standards required by STARS. That being said, Auburn University has a dedicated and sustained effort to purchase food and beverages that embody sustainability attributes, and the contract with the new food service provider requires food purchases from Alabama producers, Auburn's College of Agriculture, and a focus on certified foods. In terms of past performance, our prior food services provider reported 5.26% of food/beverage purchases met the STARS criteria.
