Data obtained from the Office of Institutional Research and based upon Academic Year 2016-17.
Note: The number of academic departments (or the equivalent) reported here (58 units) is the same as the number presented in AC-9, and was calculated from information in the Sustainability Research Inventory, provided by Academic Sustainability Programs, and available at this weblink:
http://acadsustain.auburn.edu/research-activities-plans/
A larger number of departments/units (74) is reported in the Sustainability Course Inventories that were presented in AC-1, are available at the same link. This is because academic units for the course inventories were counted as each unit if they had a distinct academic program, in terms of a cohesive set of courses and degree types offered. As such, this number is larger than the number of formal academic departments at the university. See documents at the web link above for details.
