The university has the University Outreach Office which contains the Office of Faculty Engagement, the Office of K-12 Outreach Initiatives, the Government and Economic Development Institute, the Office of Professional and Continuing Education, the Office of Public Service, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

The university established an Adopt-A-Spot program in the fall semester of 2014. This provides an opportunity for both student and employee volunteer groups maintain a location of campus by picking up litter and recycling.
