A brief description of the institution's Tree Campus USA program:
Auburn has been recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree Campus USA since 2009. AU yearly meets the criteria for Tree Campus USA recertification through its establishment of a campus tree advisory committee, establishment in 1990, the existence of a tree protection policy, dedicated annual expenditures for the campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance, and multiple yearly service learning projects. In addition, AU is currently developing a campus landscape master plan that will strengthen tree protection measures already in place.
