Yes
A brief description of the assessment process and the framework, scorecard(s) and/or tool(s) used:
As a large, decentralized institution, ASU has engaged in several different assessment processes in the past three years. The most recent example was the use of the Self-Assessment Rubric For the Institutionalization of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Higher Education (NERCHE) as a framework for assessing diversity and equity.
As part of that assessment, in December 2022, ASU engaged a third-party to conduct a survey of employees that addressed both diversity and equity and employee satisfaction. The survey was sent to all employees (i.e., faculty and staff).
The survey was created through committees of faculty and staff drawn from across the university. The committees reviewed a question bank of validated and reliable survey items from the third-party firm and selected questions to address the attitudes, perceptions and behaviors of employees, employee outcomes related to diversity and equity (e.g., pay and retention rates for underrepresented groups) as well as employee engagement, satisfaction, learning and advancement opportunities, work culture and work/life balance.
The survey was sent to all employees. 59% of staff and 46% of faculty completed the survey.
