Yes
Percentage of employees assessed, directly or by representative sample:
21.20
A brief description of the institution’s methodology for evaluating employee satisfaction and engagement:
A survey was conducted of employees in ASU’s Business and Finance unit in mid-FY20. This survey served as a pilot survey to facilitate a future institution-wide survey of employee satisfaction.
Human Resources, a department within Business and Finance managed under Dr. Morgan Olsen, uses data from the survey to inform its program development. A small number of survey respondents identified an opportunity to improve leadership support for professional development and communication of clear performance standards. ASU implemented a new workforce development management system (Career EDGE) at the start of FY19 that is intended to address and expand opportunities for professional development across the organization. Additionally a pilot project is also underway to shift from an annual performance review model to a quarterly conversation coaching model to provide more frequent feedback and clarify expectations for employees. The intention is to roll this out university wide in FY2020. We will be reviewing future survey results to determine if additional opportunities for improvement are identified. Please note that any specific issues that identified through this survey are promptly addressed by Human Resources.
Data collection:
The 21.2% of employees assessed represents all employees in departments within Business and Finance (managed under Dr. Morgan Olsen). The survey was sent to 550 employees to ensure a representative sample for Business and Finance.
