Which of the following best describes the institution’s approach to rainwater management?:
Less comprehensive policies, plans or guidelines that incorporate green infrastructure

A brief description of the institution’s green infrastructure and LID practices:

Aquinas has a commitment to LEED buildings for all new construction and major renovation projects. We follow the LEED guidelines for stormwater management. In other areas, vegetation is used to help mitigate stormwater run-off and slow down it's release into the creeks on our campus. For example, a riparian buffer was planted on the south side of our campus (Brookby estate) along Coldbrook Creek in 2017.

A brief description of the institution’s rainwater management policy, plan, and/or guidelines that supports the responses above:

Aquinas has a small amount of permeable pavement for bicycle parking on the east side of campus. Over 80% of our campus is maintained as native vegetation allowing the water to penetrate and avoiding runoff. Approximately 20 acres of our campus is a forest, in an urban setting. We also have a rain garden on campus.
